چکیده
This study investigates the accuracy of different numerical schemes OpenFOAM software to simulate compressible turbulent jets. Both pressure-based utilizing implicit PIMPLE algorithm and density-based relying on AUSM scheme explicit Runge-Kutta time integration are considered. The results tests compared validated against data from NASA ARN nozzle geometry. choice parameter setting is discussed in depth possible optimization strategies proposed increase RANS simulations

Numerical Simulation of Turbulent Subsonic Compressible Flow through Rectangular Microchannel
In this study, turbulent compressible gas flow in a rectangular micro-channel is numerically investigated. The gas flow assumed to be in the subsonic regime up to Mach number about 0.7. Five low and high Reynolds number RANS turbulence models are used for modeling the turbulent flow. Two types of mesh are generated depending on the employed turbulence model. The computations are performed for R...

Hybrid RANS/LES computation of plane impinging jet flow
Flow characteristics are presented of simulation results of plane impinging jets at high nozzle-plate distances, with two k-ω based hybrid RANS/LES (Reynolds Averaged Navier–Stokes/Large–Eddy Simulation) models and a k-ω RANS model. The first hybrid RANS/LES model is obtained by substitution of the turbulent length scale by the local grid size in the destruction term of the turbulent kinetic en...
متن کاملExperiments and Numerical Simulations of Horizontal Two Phase Flow Regimes
Stratified two-phase flow regimes can occur in the main cooling lines of Pressurized Water Reactors, Chemical plants and Oil pipelines. A relevant problem occurring is the development of wavy stratified flows which can lead to slug generation. In the last decade, the stratified flows are increasingly modelled with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes. In CFD, closure models are required tha...
